Dr. Oz’s 3-Day Energy-Boosting Cleanse

Dr. Alejandro JungerDr. Alejandro Junger is called “The Father of Detox“, Author of “Clean Gut” guide and he is well known for putting detox on the map for energy and weight loss. He has previously appeared on the Dr. Oz Show, and was so popular, that audience members wanted to see him again. This time, he appeared on the show to share a 3-Day cleanse that focuses on gut health, and boosts your energy levels. The cleanse is supposed to alleviate digestion problems like bloating, as well as reduce weight.

Cleansing the gut is one of the most important things that a person can do to try and get their energy levels back up. We not only use the gut for digestion, but around 80% of our immune system is located around the gut. There are more neurons around our gut than there are in our brain. Around 80-90% of the serotonin in our bodies is produced there, as well as many other neurotransmitters. This means that if our digestive system is working overtime to push foods through, it is not spending time making serotonin, which leads to our mood and energy being low.

Before starting a cleanse, you should check the severity of your digestion related problems. This can be done by looking in the mirror, and pinching your skin away from your face. When you release your skin, it should bounce back quickly. The longer it takes to return to normal, the worse your damage is. Other indicators are dry and puffy skin (including bags under your eyes) and redness or discoloration (which is a sign of inflammation).

Dr. Oz explained that Dr. Alejandro’s 3-Day cleanse targets gut repair on every level, to make sure that you are taking care of the whole gut. This includes the intestinal flora, digestive tract, and the GALT (gut-associated lymphatic tissue). This will lead to healthy bacteria in your gut, removal of toxin build up, bio-film, and the repair of the intestinal wall.

Dr. Alejandro Junger’s 3-Day Cleanse

Morning:

Start off with a pre-biotic shake that consists of: 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar, 10oz. almond milk, 1/2 cup blueberries,1 scoop plant-based protein powder, 1 handful baby spinach, and 1 medium banana. This shake is what will feed the good bacteria in your system. Follow the shake with a probiotic supplement with at least 50 billion organisms from multiple strains.

Afternoon:

Take 400mg per day of Berberine. This will dissolve any bio-film build up in your digestive tract and only a few people experience side effects (cramping). Also take 1000mg of L-Glutamine for intestinal wall repair.

Night:

Every night before you go to bed, take 250mg of Magnesium. People generally do not have enough Magnesium in their systems, so a supplement will help stabilize the nervous system, moods, and improve quality of sleep.

Are You Food Dumping?

If you feel low energy levels after eating, it could be because of “food dumping”. The cleanse should help relieve this feeling, but it is important to note that some foods are fine to eat on their own but are not good when in combination with other foods.

* Vegetables should be eaten with only one of the following: beans, animal proteins, or grains. They should not be combined with more than one of these at a time. Vegetables are digested with different enzymes, so do not impede the progress of the digestion of other foods.

* Do not combine animal proteins, beans, or grains in any meals. They will all compete for the same enzymes and this will slow down digestion and lead to fermenting food in your gut.

* Before every meal, make sure to take a Multi-Enzyme supplement. This will reduce the amount of work that your digestive system has to do.

* Make sure to avoid alcohol, gluten, dairy, caffeine, and processed sugar. These are the most unnatural foods that we can try to digest, so they take more time and energy to digest completely.
