\nIt was created by the National Institute of Health, and initially used to combat high blood pressure. With an extensive amount of research backing the diet, the foremost authorities are able to constantly keep up to date with publications. Evidence supports that the diet is incredibly effective.<\/p>\n

Not only has the DASH Diet been found to reduce blood pressure, but it also reduces the risk of diabetes, strokes, and heart attacks. It has also been found to reduce cholesterol, some cancers, and kidney stones.<\/p>\n

The diet is easy to follow, can be sustained over a lifetime, and is common sense healthy. Most importantly, the diet not only works, but leads to weight loss within a single week. Everything you eat on the diet can be found in any supermarket, and it is completely flexible.<\/p>\n

Marla Heller<\/strong>, Registered Dietician and author of \u201cThe DASH Diet Weight Loss Solution<\/a>\u201c, joined Dr. Oz to share her diet plan. Several audience members tried her diet plan, and experienced 4.5lbs.-8lbs. of weight loss in their first week. The weight loss does slow down the second week, but steadily continues over time.<\/p>\n
